Seat Leon maps update

Below you can find the instructions on how I performed the update. Basically all you need to do is

• download your desired maps package and in the meanwhile
• make a backup of your original SD card
  • if you can, I recommend you make a dd image so it really is as close to a carbon copy as it can be
• set the SD card lock switch to unlock
• quick format the SD card (VFAT)
• extract the maps folder to the SD card root
• set the lock switch back to lock
• insert the SD card back into its slot int the car

Now turn on the ignition and wait for the infotainment system to boot. Press the NAV button and

OMG OMG OMG…

Whaa….. N… Noo! Wh… No… Noooo!

OK, breathe in, breathe out slowly, repeat… omg omg omg… Breathe in, breathe out slowly, repeat. OK, let’s Google it. Aha, I see. OK. I did make that backup, didn’t I? Ah, yes… Here it is 🙂

Put the SD card back into your reader and copy the following file from your backup to the new SD card.

/maps/EEC/EEC_WLD/OVERALL.NDS

Insert the SD card back into its slot and enjoy the updated maps!
